The Threefold Message of the Bible
The Bible is like any other book in that it has a subject or theme.
Of course the Bible is different from any other book in that it is the perfect Word of God. But the Bible has a threefold subject or theme. In other words, God gave us the Bible because there are three very basic things that He wants everyone to know:
The First Thing God wants us to know is that all have sinned. (Romans 3:10: “As it is written there is none righteous, no not one.” Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”)
Because everyone has sinned, everyone born into the world is separated from God and cannot enter into His presence.
Romans 5:12 tells us “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death has passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
This word “death” not only means physical death, but it means spiritual and eternal death in Hell. Jesus describes Hell as a place of “unquenchable fire”, “outer darkness”, a place where there is eternal “wailing and gnashing of teeth”, and “a place of torments”.
The Second Thing God wants us to know is that we cannot do anything to save ourselves. Isaiah 64:6 “…all our righteousness are as filthy rags; …” In other words, the “best” we can do is as a filthy rag in the sight of God. Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…”
Who Then Can Be Saved? Read On!
This brings us to The Third Thing that God wants us to know and that is that He loves us and that He has provided a perfect Saviour for sinful mankind and that Saviour is Jesus Christ. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus died on the cross in your place, paying the penalty for your sin, and offers salvation to you as a free gift. Here is how you may receive it.
Here is The Way of Salvation
Romans 10:9, 10 and 13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
If you would like to have your sins forgiven and be saved and know for certain that if you died today, that you would go to heaven; pray this prayer by faith, taking God at His Word that He will do what He has promised to do. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13.
Dear Lord Jesus: I confess that I am a sinner and that I deserve Hell, but right now, as best I know how, I ask you to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. I now trust you and you alone for my salvation and ask you to help me to live for you. Thank you for saving me. In Your Precious Name, Amen. Please read John 3:16, 18; 5:24; and 1 John 5:12 and 13.
